A bit of both. It's hair color in shampoo form. There's no kit to mix and no brush: lather it into dry hair, wait 15 minutes and rinse. It's made without ammonia, the source of that sharp box-dye smell, and without PPD, a common dye ingredient many people prefer to avoid. It's still hair color, so patch test first.
For most gray, one 15-minute wash does the job. Very white or stubborn gray, often at the temples, can need more. Leave it on up to 25 minutes, which also helps the color last. Prefer a soft, gradual change? Begin with 5 minutes.
Go by your natural color, not by the gray. The hair at the back of your neck is a good guide. Between two shades? Pick the lighter one. You can always leave it on longer next time for a deeper result.
No. Shadeday is made to color your hair, not your hands or your bathroom. Gloves are optional. Any drips on your skin wipe right off if you get to them within 5 minutes.
